The Fondation and the Associations

The Fondation was created in 1956 through a gift made in 1955 by Edouard Ravel, brother of the composer. It was immediately “recognized as a public benefit” organization that can receive gifts and bequests.

Its purpose is “to honor the memory of Maurice Ravel, to perpetuate his memory, to serve in the distribution and performance of his works, to manage and to preserve the assets of any kind that may have belonged to him”.
